Angela Horner
Angela Horner is a Baltimore writer who until recently hosted the monthly all-inclusive open mic Moaning Pipe Cabaret at Ukazoo Books. She has been featured at numerous venues, including the Amaranth Coffee House, Indian Head Retirement Home, PerVerse, Corner of Poetry and Main, Green Moon Poetry Society, Tuesday Music Nights at the Parkside, Essential Sundays, !Speak Your Piece!, the Baltimore Folk Music Society Friendly Coffee House, and Town Square. She has been published in Fledgling Rag, Urbanite, the Annapolis Capital, Amaranth Literary Journal, Damozel Magazine, and the Campus Crier. She was awarded the Sister Maura Eichner Creative Writing Award in 2008, and served as a judge for the 2009 Marjorie Flack Award for Fiction at Anne Arundel Community College.
Angela Horner, host and organizer of popular Moaning Pipe Cabaret series, gave a signature solid performance. Angela seamlessly blends the polished imagery of the literary academic with the street-wise and edgy language of the modern urban poet.
